ICARUS ... The first jazz album I've done in a while, and my first real "playing" album.  I pushed the racks of synths aside and revisited my first love, the Hammond Organ.  Most of the CD is in the classic organ trio format and features great performances by guitarists Joe Beck and Mike DeMicco, and drummer Danny Gottlieb.  My brother Tony is sitting in on bass, playing lead on a beautiful Jimmy Giuffre ballad.  The album has a few originals and several of my jazz arrangements of classic pieces - Erik Satie's "1st Gymnopedie", Steely Dan's "Deacon Blues", Ralph Towner's "Icarus" and the Beachboys’ "Sail On Sailor."

The cover photo was taken by photographer Sally Anderson-Bruce.  It was supposed to be used for a CD cover but was rejected. I've been using it as my PR image shot for years and finally got to use it on a CD cover as I had hoped to.  Thanks Sally.

ICARUS is available now from Woodstock CD.  I'm looking ahead toward a wider release in the fall of 2006.  Meanwhile, I've got stacks of CD boxes!Any help cleaning my basement will be much appreciated.

I was keeping a log here on the home page, but there's too much stuff here anyway so I moved it to it's own page - the Icarus Log.

6/23/06  Bethlehem, PA at Nearfest
The Nearfest Festival - Tony's been trying to get the band to this one for a long time.  They take over the beautiful Zoellner Arts Center at Lehigh University, and the joint rocks all weekend.  With the big stage and great lighting, I had no trouble roaming around - and got some pretty interesting photos.  Artsy, even!

After the show at our merchandise table.
These 3 kids not only had 3 King Crimson LPs for Tony to sign,
but they had the matching T-shirts!  How cool is that?

09/07/06  Princeton, NJ at Quark Park

We added a last minute East Coast date, an outdoor concert at Quark Park in Princeton, NJ.   A very unique and unusual place, Quark Park is a garden of installations celebrating the mysteries of science and art and the contributions of Princeton area scientists and designers.
